Luncheon with some great men

Thanks to the Pachyderm Club I was able to attend an invitation only luncheon with Don and Kc'lynn, where we were honored to hear from US Senator Sam Brownback, Congressman Todd Tiahrt,US Senator Pat Roberts and the Honorable Bob Dole. This was a great opportunity to hear and be made aware of some of the perils that we are facing today with government. This also brought KC'lynn face to face with some of our great leaders in Kansas. No matter what party you are with, what your political views are the most important thing is to have them. Have a say, know what it is that your vote helps decide. Who you want in office, and why you want them there. In other words "Rock The Vote". Have a voice and use it!! And whatever party you decide to back, back them. Do what YOU can to make a difference.

Kensler Gospel Choir

I am blessed to have 4 wonderful children,2 of which just graduated from Kensler Elementary school where they have an amazing group of kids who donate their recess to be part of the gospel choir. They are directed by Mrs. Lashbrook who is also one of the music teachers at Kensler. The choir has been all over Wichita to share their love of music and of Christ. I was privileged to have been invited to attend their rehearsal and to see them in action. It was so nice to meet so many wonderful children with such passion. They also had guest come and sing with them of the "Sweet Adeline's" for their evening performance. Such a fun night for everyone.

Kiss A Pig - American Diabetes Camp Fundraiser

The American Diabetes Association Kansas Diabetes Day Camp (Ka-Di-Da-Ca) is for young children with diabetes, their siblings and friends. Activities include learning more about diabetes, swimming, games, arts and crafts and hiking. The Kiss A Pig Event is 12 years old and was started by Helen Galloway in honor of the significant roll that the pig has filled in being the first provider of life saving insulin to diabetics.

I was honored to be present and give that sweet little piglet a kiss on her tiny snout. This event is hosted on top of the roof of the Hyatt where a B-B-Q dinner is served along with an auction and lots of dancing courtesy of the great band "Rain". If you have not been privileged to hear them yet they are local and fantastic!!

The kids were treated to bull rides, blow up games and rides. It was a great time had by all. The only sad event of the entire evening was coming up short with paid for camp memberships for the children.
